  • The Maddocks Aspiring Expert of the Year Award is dedicated to fostering the professional growth of early career valuation professionals with 10 years or less in the industry. This award encourages candidates to take on a learning project or research initiative that will benefit both their own development and the wider valuation profession. 

    The winner of this prestigious award will receive a $5,000 cash prize and an unique opportunity to be mentored by Maddocks on topics related to land valuation and valuation legal issues. This mentorship will provide valuable exposure and learning, which can be directly applied to the recipient’s career and shared with the MGV community. 

    Additionally, the award winner will have the opportunity to present their research or findings at the following year’s MGV Country Conference, enhancing their professional profile and furthering their development. This experience offers a significant opportunity for networking, learning, and contributing to the evolution of the municipal valuation sector. 

    To be eligible, applicants must be a current MGV member, have been a valuation professional for 10 years or less, and be engaged in the local government sector. The successful candidate will be selected by the Executive Committee and a representative from Maddocks based on the advancement their proposed research offers to the municipal valuation profession.

  • The IDS Emerging Leader Award celebrates the initiative, innovation, and dedication of early career professionals in the municipal valuation sector. It is designed to acknowledge and promote the positive impact that emerging valuers can have on the industry through thoughtful research and professional engagement. 

    The award supports recipients in undertaking a meaningful project that contributes to the advancement of valuation practice and knowledge. As part of this commitment, the winner receives financial support to assist with their professional development—reflecting the MGV’s belief in investing in the next generation of leaders. This includes the opportunity to attend either an interstate or international property conference, expanding their exposure to broader industry thinking and strengthening their professional network. 

    More than just recognition, the MGV Emerging Leader Award is a platform for growth—highlighting fresh perspectives and fostering the ongoing development of talented individuals committed to excellence in public sector valuation.
