We are seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated Property Valuer (CPV) to undertake a mix of municipal valuation contract work and residential, commercial and industrial valuations (non-mortgage) mainly for family law purposes in the metropolitan area and rural fringe of Melbourne. For the right candidate we are willing to support your transition into undertaking family law valuations should this not be your current area of expertise.

ValueIt is a well-established, privately owned firm, undertaking quality valuations since 1997 for a diverse range of clients and across a variety of property types. Our office is currently centrally based in the Melbourne CBD.

To be successful in this role you’ll have:

• Certified Practising Valuer (CPV) status

• Membership of the Australian Property Institute

• Certificate of Compliance with Continuing Professional Development

• Well-developed IT and computer skills with experience in VMOnline a particular advantage

• Strong organisational and communication skills

We have a fully supported office administrative team who will assist you in your role and you will be rewarded for your work and respected for your efforts. Specialist Valuer, Government Valuations

Department of Transport and Planning

Work Type: Ongoing - Full-time

Location: Melbourne - CBD and Inner Metro suburbs

Salary: $142,790 - $191,084

About the role 
The role sits within Government Valuations, supporting the Valuer-General’s statutory responsibilities to provide independent, accurate, and compliant valuation advice for government property transactions, compensation matters, and financial reporting. It also contributes to maintaining valuation standards, quality assurance, and legislative compliance across government valuation activities.

The position leads the day-to-day operations of a valuation team, providing expert advice on complex and sensitive valuation matters. Key responsibilities include managing resources and quality systems, developing staff capability, overseeing valuation outputs, improving policies and processes, and maintaining strong relationships with government and industry stakeholders. The role also represents the organisation in meetings, mediations, court proceedings, and industry forums.
